ALA/TLA-UTK Officers Presented at TLA 2014 Conference
Nicole Barajas, Nicole Carney, Fawnie Erickson, and Elizabeth Wilson delivered a presentation at the TLA 2014 Conference on Friday, May 2nd at 11am. Their presentation was titled ‘Developing Library Leaders by Fostering Partnerships’. It addressed the challenges facing SIS MSIS students, solutions presented by social and professional networks, and the ways information professionals can partner with students. The presentation ended with an audience participation exercise that engaged the audience.

Welcome to the ALA/TLA-UTK student chapter!

As Co-Presidents of the University of Tennessee, School of Information Sciences Student Chapter of American Libraries Association and Tennessee Libraries Association (ALA/TLA-UTK), we would like to welcome you to our blog!
This student organization strives to:
• Bring together students interested in academic, public, archives, special , and school libraries.
• Provide programming on topics of interest and use in various library settings.
• Promote participation in ALA and TLA.
This upcoming semester is full of big plans. We are finalizing our scheduled events for the upcoming school year, but we will be offering a Peer Mentor Program/ Special Interest Groups, a Professional Mentor Program, and Brown Bag Special Topic Sessions. The Chapter is also providing opportunities for students to participate as guest writers for the Chapter’s blog.
